Honest answers about how BodyCipher works, what it can do, and what it can't.

No. BodyCipher is a wellness education tool, not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, or prescribe anything. It observes signals you share and suggests botanicals that have been traditionally used in association with those signals across multiple healing traditions. Think of it as a translation service for ancient wellness knowledge — not a doctor.
When you create a profile, you can list any ongoing medications you take. BodyCipher's botanical library includes safety flags for known herb-drug interactions — for example, herbs that may affect blood thinning, thyroid function, or blood pressure medications. Any herb with a relevant flag is noted before being suggested, so you can have a more informed conversation with your healthcare provider.
BodyCipher's 107-herb library draws on documented traditional use from Ayurveda, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Naturopathy, Unani medicine, and indigenous healing traditions across multiple continents. Each herb entry includes its cultural origin, historical application, preparation methods, and documented safety considerations. We do not make clinical efficacy claims.
BodyCipher flags pregnancy in your profile and will note pregnancy-related cautions for relevant herbs. However, you should always consult your midwife, OB, or healthcare provider before taking any botanical supplement during pregnancy. The app is informational only and does not replace specialized prenatal care.
Users under 18 should use BodyCipher only with parent or guardian consent and guidance from a qualified healthcare provider. Herbal suggestions are educational only and should not be used by minors without adult supervision and professional input.
You can start a basic symptom inquiry without an account. Creating a profile allows you to save your health information, access the full herb library, and store your wellness history across sessions. The free tier gives you meaningful access to explore the system before committing to a subscription.
